Singapore Reits

Singapore Reits (S-Reits) have progressively increased in popularity among individual investors since its initial listing on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in 2002. There are several important reasons behind this.

For starters, S-Reits are mandated to return 90% of their earnings as dividends to unitholders, which is an appealing offer for people who prefer “income investing.” Unitholder distributions, which are made quarterly or semi-annually, are also tax-free.

Because S-Reits have an average dividend yield of between 5% and 6%, they may provide unitholders a more appealing return than government bonds and term deposits, especially given the recent low interest rate environment. Reits have historically fared well in increasing interest rate environments.
