Western Reit Lists

A real estate investment trust (REIT) is a business that owns and, in most circumstances, operates income-generating real estate. REITs own a variety of commercial real estate assets, such as office and apartment buildings, warehouses, hospitals, shopping complexes, hotels, and commercial forests. Some REITs are involved in real estate finance.

Congress founded U.S. REITs in 1960 to provide all investors, particularly small investors, with access to income-producing real estate. Since then, the US REIT method has thrived and acted as a model for more than 40 nations worldwide.
